FALL ART HOP
Juried Art Show
October 3rd - October 30th


Georgetown Art Works, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the arts in the City of Georgetown Texas, announces a call for artists for the Fall Art Hop, a juried art show and stroll, to be held October 3-31, 2008 in the historic district of Georgetown, Texas. Original works in painting, collage and photography accepted. Jurors are Jerry Seagle and Susan Kirchman.

July 31st - Entries are due, post marked.
August 29th
- Entrant notification begins.
September 26th
- Shipped entries are due.
September 27th & 29th
- Hand delivered entries accepted.
October 3rd
- Exhibition begins.
Friday October 3rd
- Reception for artists.
November 3rd
- Pick up of hand delivered work.


Jury:
Jerry Seagle: Jerry Seagle graduated with honors from the University of Texas, Austin, with a BFA in painting. He received a graduate fellowship to further his studies at the University of the Americas in Mexico City. Seagle relies on the strength of design and rich color to create his bold compositions. Jerry teaches art and is recognized nationally.
Susan Kirchman: Susan Kirchman has been exhibiting her art work in museums and galleries since the early 1980’s.
A California native, Susan came to Texas in 1985 to teach at Texas A&M University. While at A&M she was active in the
origination of the Master of Science in Visualization Science Degree program in the College of Architecture and served as
the first Program Coordinator.

Awards:
Painting and Collage: 1st place $500.00, 2nd place: $300.00, third place: $150.00
Photography: 1st place $500.00, 2nd place: $300.00, third place: $150.00
Best of show: $750.00
*Winners can be showcased on the Georgetown Art Works online gallery until the show next year

Eligibility:
The GAW Fall Art Hop Juried Exhibition is open to all Texas artists. Work must be original and completed
within the last 2 years.

Entry Fee:
A $35.00 entry fee, which covers the first 3 pieces of artwork submitted, is required. $10.00 for each additional
submission. Fee is to be paid by check or money order. Check or money order should be made out to
Georgetown Art Works and included with submission.

Entry Deadline:
Entries are due, post marked by July 31st.

Entry Specifications:
Entries are to be submitted in digital format, acceptable file types include;
jpg, tiff, pdf. Files should be named after the artwork. Files should be
submitted on disk, which should be named after the artist, and sent
with entry form and payment.


Artwork Specifications:
Medium – Paintings, Collage, Photography only. (No 3 dimensional work.)
Size – Framed artwork and photography is to be no larger than 84 united inches finish size.
Assembly – Each piece must be framed or properly wrapped and ready to be hung with suitable wire (no saw tooth hangers or string.)
Glass – It is preferred that glass not be used and plexi-glass be used in its place. GAW will not be responsible for
broken glass if used. In the case of cracked or broken glass, work may not be hung or may be hung without glass.
Photography – Photos should be framed with a black frame and black or white matte.
Labeling – Each art piece should be labeled on the back with the artist name, phone number, E-mail, hometown of
artist, title of piece, medium and price if for sale.

Artwork Submission:
Works are to be shipped or hand delivered.
Shipments are due to the following address by September 26th.

Art work that is shipped MUST have a prepaid address label in the package for the return of the work. All work will be
returned by November the 7th. Art work that is packaged should be wrapped with bubble wrap (un-taped), do not use
packing peanuts please (The use of packaging peanuts is NOT safe for shipping.)

Hand deliveries will be accepted on September the 27th (12 pm - 5 pm) & 29th (10 am - 5 pm) at the following address.

Items not picked up by November 3rd will incur a $5.00 a day storage fee unless arrangements are made previously.

Event, Sale/Exhibition:
The Fall Art Hop will be held at numerous locations around Georgetown
Texas, including The Georgetown Public Library, The Framers Gallery,
Annarella and 8th Street Studio. Artwork may be for sale during the event.
For all work sold during the event, a 30 percent commission will be
assessed and donated to the Georgetown Art Works, a non-profit that
was organized specifically for the purpose of promoting the development
of the arts in the City of Georgetown, Texas.
